I have been working as a therapist for 20 years, 15 years in gov and non-gov organizations as a counsellor, and 12 years in private practice as a psychotherapist in the Northern Rivers. 

My time working for NSW Health and non-government organizations involved work in the areas of chronic illness, drug and alcohol, sexual health, men’s issues, family support, grief and loss, homelessness and generalist counselling.

I currently work in private practice in Mullumbimby specializing in the areas of trauma, relationships, men’s work, life transitions and on issues of integrating the spiritual and the everyday.

I run retreats and workshops nationally integrating somatic, relational and emotion focused work within an eco-psychology and ceremonial container. This work supports deep emotional healing work within a container that is resourced by transpersonal supports.

I also mentor practitioners, including psychiatrists, in the creation of integral healing and empowering containers as in the above work.

I am supportive of the work of www.mindmedicineaustralia.org in advocating for new experiential medicin

I am in interested in writing and research and have published 3 peer reviewed articles in the areas of the therapeutic relationship, shame, and psychotherapy and spirituality. I also won a NSW Health scholarship to undertake research into transformational experiences during medical treatment.

My formal qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Arts (USyd).
  • Graduate Diploma in Counselling (UWS).
  • Master of Gestalt Therapy. (GTB).
  • Graduate Diploma of (Adult) Education. (UniSA).
  • Certificate in Somatic Psychotherapy, (426 hrs/2 yrs).
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE).

PACFA is the peak body for counsellors and psychotherapists in Australia.
